Hear Here

IN DEVELOPMENT - SEEKING FUNDING

A documentary exploring what sound and hearing are through people who's life and work depends on their hearing and yet have significant hearing damage. The exploration into this alternative world of sound is told through music, stories of music makers and contextualised through science.

In consideration are the renowned deaf percussionist Evelyn Glennie with additional contemporary musicians with hearing loss as well as recording engineers, producers and those who work with sound daily.

This film stems from a deeply personal experience that the filmmaker, Alan D Boyd, who is also a musician and composer, has been challenged with as he went through years of medical treatment for Superior Semicircular Canal Dehiscence; a rare medical condition that resulted in three extremely invasive surgical procedures.
